The leadership of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) has barred movie directors and producers in the association from working with Nollywood actresses, Nkechi Sunday Blessing and Iyabo Ojo and have threatened to frustrate them out of the movie industry as a result of some of their derogatory comments on social media.
Nkechi Sunday Blessing and Iyabo Ojo have over time taken to social media to condemn fellow Nollywood actor, Baba Ijesha, after he was accused of molesting the foster daughter of Nigerian comedienne, Princess. However, veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko who spoke on behalf of the Board of Trustee of TAMPAN at a press briefing on Sunday, June 27, stated that their attention has been drawn to the malicious damages done to the sector by some unruly individuals that lack any iota of discipline and seeming to feel above the law.
He stated that the association has observed the continuous derogatory statements being made by Iyabo Ojo against the association. Jide Kosoko stated that TAMPAN is not against Iyabo Ojo's stand on Baba Ijesha's issue but her reckless accusations, abuses and embarrassment of their association is no accepted. The association also disclosed that Nkechi Sunday Blessing has also joined Iyabo Ojo in doing the same and the association has had enough of that.
Jide Kosoko stated that TAMPAN will not fold its arms and allow these infringements to go without repercussion and stated that they have the power to frustrate Nkechi Blessing Sunday and Iyabo Ojo out of the industry in their own way.
Ebun Oloyede Olaiya who spoke on behalf of movie directors and producers in TAMPAN stated that the association didn't suspend Nkechi Blessing Sunday and Iyabo Ojo but barred directors from working with both actresses.
