Nigerian Music Star, Temilade Openiyi whose stage name is Tems met the American Superstar Singer, Rihanna few days ago during Rihanna's Fenty event in Los Angeles, United States of America. However, many Nigerians have praised Rihanna for acknowledging the fast upcoming Singer, Tems and welcoming her. On Saturday,Tems revealed on her verified Instagram account that she never knew how far she had gone until she left Nigeria and that has attracted me to write on two major things Tems meeting with Rihanna will reveal about Nigerians.
#1 Most Nigerians are talented and only need the platform to showcase their talents. It is pertinent to state that most Nigerians are very talented in their respective fields of life. They only need the right grooming and platform to perform. Tems is a glaring example of a Nigerian who is talented and has been performing even in the higher stages with big stars in the industry like Drake, Wizkid and other Nigerian music stars. So meeting with Rihanna will provide her the opportunity to seal good deals and elevate her career in the music industry.
#2 Nigerians are hardworking. Tems must have passed through many hurdles in trying to build herself to becoming a superstar in music and more especially to conquer the music industry that is populated by male singers. That also show that most Nigerians are very hard-working and can perform even at the higher stages of life if given the opportunity to do so. Recall that other top Nigerian Singers like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, etc have performed well even at the international level. Tems, being an upcoming superstar is set to dominate the music industry if she concentrate and work harder.
What do you make of this two ideas? Do you think Tems visit with Rihanna proved that Nigerians are talented and hard-working?
