Your Aides Have Ripped Me - Portable Appeals to Tinubu

Nigerian street artist Portable has criticized the coordinators of Tinubu's pre-inauguration show in a recently published message.

Remember that prominent figures from the entertainment sector attended the concert of the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, held at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Thursday night?

Fireboy, Timaya, Asake, Zinoleesky, and approximately 42 additional musicians showcased their talents at the gathering known as the 'Renewed Hope Concert'.

Utterly disheartened by the course of events, Portable initially asserted that he had not received an invitation to showcase his talent at the occasion.

Subsequently, he disclosed that upon contacting his manager, he was informed that an amount of 10 million naira was to be given as an award, but he would only receive 5 million naira.

The vocalist divulged that this was the reason behind his non-participation, as he vehemently declined, blocked, and removed their contact for attempting to exploit a renowned artist like himself. He attributed the attempted deception to the intermediaries appointed by Tinubu.

Portable further mentioned that despite the widespread opposition to Tinubu's presidential candidacy, he released songs to endorse him due to his unwavering faith in the politician. Sharing a video of himself expressing his frustration, Portable wrote:

"Your aides have ripped me completely. While I sang in praise of Tinubu, they seized my profits and gave them to someone else.

"A lot of individuals oppose him on the internet, but I now stand resolute, united in purpose. Love for our city should be unconditional, irrespective of your nationality. Nigeria is my homeland. Fake love has no place here. Let's communicate in a way that fosters understanding."

Note that Portable wrote these words in a mixture of Pidgin English and Yoruba. Keep in mind that Portable recently unveiled a fresh track entitled 'Obi is a Boy.

The song's lyrics commend Tinubu on his triumph as President-elect while subtly criticizing Obi, who was defeated in the election. This occurred shortly after King Westt, one of the sons of MC Oluomo, referred to Obi as his boy.

Portable, possibly drawing inspiration from King Westt's remark, initially shared a video of himself entering the recording studio and then subsequently released the finished version of the song.
