Chinwetalu Agu Narrates His Ordeal In The Hands Of The Nigerian army.

Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, in an interview with ADELANI ADEPEGBA narrated his experience in the custody of the military and the Department of State Services in Abuja after he was arrested for putting on an attire that is associated with the Indigenous People of Biafra. According to Agu, he said:

I had just finished shooting a movie in Asaba and was on my way back to Enugu( where I base). As I drove through Upper Iweka junction, I stop for somebody to alight and at the same time bought loaves of bread and shared to some people. as I was sharing the bread to passers-by. At a point, I bought up to over N10,000 worth of bread. I heard gunshots from soldiers from Onitsha barracks. When I turned, I saw people running away and the soldiers coming closer. They commanded me saying, “Enter the bus’ and when I tried to inquire what my offense was , they dragged me into the bus and drove to onitsha barracks. After some time they took me to Enugu 82 division of the Nigerian army where I was interrogate the also made me stay in a dirty room and on a bed with no mattress.
