Cardi B Quits Twitter After Horrific Online Bullying

Is this the final straw for the notorious Cardi B?

It seems that Cardi B has finally had enough.

Following her filing for divorce from husband Offset, the rapper has been facing a lot of heat online.

And now...

Cardi has deleted her Twitter account after an explosive rant on her Instagram stories.

Now, we all know that Cardi B is unbelievably successful.

And she has been named as one of the most popular female rap artists of our generation.

But the rapper had a pretty difficult start in life...

Born in the Bronx, NY, Cardi (her real name is Belcalis Almanzar) came from a life of domestic violence and poverty and had to resort to stripping aged nineteen to make ends meet.

This wasn't a path she ideally wanted to go down...

“The first time I stripped I was really embarrassed, I felt like I could hear my parents voice in my head,” she told ID magazine last year.

“After a while, I didn’t even care anymore. I was seeing the money that I feel like I would’ve never seen ever.”

In 2015, she joined the cast of the VH1 reality TV series Love & Hip Hop: New York...

But after 2 seasons, Cardi announced that she would be leaving the show to pursue a career in music – the thing she was truly passionate about.

She soon made her musical debut on Jamaican reggae fusion singer Shaggy's remix to his single "Boom Boom"...

And the rest is history.

In the space of 2 years, the singer's life took a complete U-turn.

With an estimated net worth of around $8m, and even being hailed as one of TIME’s most influential people in the world last year, the star has truly made her mark on the industry.

But before she became an awarding-winning singer, she was a social media star.

Cardi first found fame when some of her posts on Vine and Instagram went viral, catapulting her to instant stardom.

Her stage name, Cardi B, came from her family nickname… Bacardi. Quite fitting, don’t you agree?

The star has since become renowned for her headline-making behavior...

With her explicit lyrics and brazen behavior both on and off stage, Cardi B has certainly made a name for herself in the world of music.

But Cardi's outlandish behavior has only propelled her even further...

Her crude lyrics and overall overwhelming stage presence certainly haven’t stopped her from succeeding; they’ve done quite the opposite, in fact.

Throughout her career, she has bagged herself a Grammy, 7 Billboard Awards, 3 MTV Music Awards, and 2 Guinness World Record Awards. Not too shabby.

Because if you've got it...

Flaunt it, right?

You have to admire her confidence...

Part of Cardi’s overall image is her sassy attitude.

She’s never afraid to speak her mind and is always open to experimenting with new and outlandish looks.

She documents every single aspect of her life on Instagram...

And I feel many parents will agree with me when I say that Cardi’s Instagram page is not a place for children.

Her outspoken nature on social media has landed the rapper in quite a lot of trouble in the past, however.

For example, who remembers the time when Cardi decided she was going to post a picture of her daughter which had been edited to show what the child would look like as an adult?

When a fan pointed out that the 2-year-old actually looks more like her sister than her, things got awkward.

It seems as though one fan had their own theories, suggesting Kulture looked more like a combination of Offset and Cardi’s sister Carolina, AKA Hennessy.

Yikes.

Responding to the fan, Cardi wrote this:

“I think cause Hennessy got c****y eyes like Offset and so do KK. It’s the only think [sic] I could think off [sic].”

Fans immediately jumped on the singer, calling her out for the use of the racist slur often hurled at Asians.

That’s when everything took a dramatic turn and Cardi was on the receiving end of intense backlash to which she was forced to respond.

She then said this:

“I didn’t know that c****y eyes was a slur like wtfff I DONT KNOW F–-IN EVERYTHING !!” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet, using the slur again. “We don’t even use that as a [sic] insult and I didn’t use it as a [sic] insult.”

Oh, girl no.

She also added that she was "sick of the internet."

But if you do say something offensive, the usual response is to apologize and then move on. Why get enraged when you’re the one that did something wrong?

Cardi is clearly a hot-headed woman...

And fans being upset with her behavior doesn’t seem to phase her… at all.

But in more recent times, cracks have been showing in Cardi's personal life.

Earlier in September, it emerged that the rapper had filed for divorce from husband Offset.

Of course, fans have had a lot to say about the divorce...

Especially after Cardi and Offset were snapped looking very cozy at her birthday bash recently.

What on Earth is going on?!

It turns out that the pair have reconciled, despite their ongoing divorce case...

And Cardi explained to her fans that she went back to him because she’s “crazy and wanted d***.”

We appreciate the honesty, Cardi…

It's been so much drama...

And people have been lashing out at the rapper on Twitter over her explanations behind her and Offset’s relationship.

People really want to know what's going on...

Even though at the end of the day, it isn’t really anyone’s business but Cardi and Offset’s.

Fans began pointing out how Cardi wasn't being a good role model for Kulture with her behavior.

What will Kulture learn from seeing her parents behave in such an on-and-off way with one another?

Well, it seems that Cardi has finally snapped under all of the criticism.

In an impromptu Instagram Live update on Saturday night, the rapper said she left Twitter this weekend because she was frustrated over tweets from followers who were criticizing her and harassing Offset.

“A whole bunch of fifteen-year-olds telling me how to live my life like I’m mother f****** Ariana Grande or something,” Cardi said in her rant, “Like I came from Disney or something.”

She then continued:

“I’m so tired that because of y’all I’ve gotta continuously explain myself. I didn’t put my divorce out there, a f****** court clerk put it out there. And because people are making rumors up, ‘Oh, this guy has a girl pregnant,’ this and that, I have to address it.”

Cardi then complained about comments her fans have left about Offset.

“You guys want to be harassing this n***** Bro, if I work things out, why are you going to this n******* Twitter to harass him? That s*** don’t make no f****** sense,” she said.

She also brought up remarks left about her recently being seen smoking a cigarette...

Clarifying that she was not smoking due to being stressed out about her relationship with Offset.

“I’m bored, and I was drinking on my birthday. Offset is not the only f****** problem that I deal with. To be honest with you, my marriage is one of the least worries that I have right now.”

The final ultimatum then came.

“I love my fans and I’m thankful and I’m grateful for everything you do, but some of you really be acting like I sleep with ya,” she said before deleting her Twitter account.

Who knows when she’ll be back, but maybe a break from social media is what she needs.
