‘Tiwa Savage did wrong’ says the general public after her sex tape recently went viral on Social Media. The general public including top celebrities has had one opinion or the other concerning the recent viral topic.
While many including her colleagues have criticised her action, a few of them have applauded her strength tagging her ‘queen’ even as she ignores the critics focusing on promoting her new song titled ‘Somebody’s Son’.
Although some of the comments by fans hold some truth, Tiwa has shown over time that she can pull through difficult situations. Recall her breakup with her ex-husband Teebillz; she has managed to make good use of her scandals. And if that strategy is working for her, and continues to serve her well, why does she need to do away with scandals?
These criticisms smack of hypocrisy, and the meaningful arguments that are directed at Tiwa are defeated on arrival by the contradictory behaviour of the fans who would rather praise her every action. To many, Tiwa Savage can do no wrong.
One would expect that the issue will be addressed lightly due to the fact that weeks before the tape surfaced on social media, Tiwa had announced that someone was trying to blackmail her over a sex tape involving her and her supposed boyfriend.
It is no news that Nigerians are always quick to call out celebrities when they do things that they consider ‘evil', yet these same people will praise and worship entertainers from other parts of the world when they commit similar atrocities.
It is high time we start to celebrate our celebrities, good or bad knowing well that they are humans too. They are bound to make mistakes and these are what make us strong as humans.
It is time to move on...
