It is not as easy as people say it because combining one career or profession with another requires hard work, perseverance, and determination. In the Nigerian movie industry, almost everyone there has at least two professions or careers. A man in the movie industry may be an actor and at the same time, he may also be a movie director or entrepreneur.
Some Nigerian actors who have been in the movie industry for several years have ventured into politics. Some even have not less than 2 jobs yet, they ventured into politics.
1. Yul Edochie.
Yul Edochie is a popular and hard-working Nigerian actor who has been in the movie industry for several years. Yul Edochie is also the son of veteran Nigerian actor Pete Edochie. Yul Edochie is an aspiring Nigerian politician who has been publicizing his political interest on his official social media pages. He may contest for a political seat soon.
2. Richard Mofe Damijo.
Richard Eyimofe Evans Mofe-Damijo is a veteran Nigerian actor, businessman, and writer who has been in the movie industry for several years. Richard Mofe Damijo ventured into politics in 2008 when he was appointed as the Special Adviser of Culture and Tourism to the former governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan. In 2009, he became the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism of Delta State.
3. Kanayo O Kanayo.
Kanayo O Kanayo is an award-winning Nigerian actor, businessman, and politician. It could be recalled that Kanayo O Kanayo contested for a political seat in 2011 but he lost. He was a member of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, and he wanted to represent the Ahiazu/Ezinihite Mbaise Federal Constituency at the National House of Representatives but he lost in the primary election.
4. Bob Manuel.
Bob-Manuel Obidimma Udokwu who is popularly known as Bob Manuel is a veteran Nigerian actor, businessman, and politician. He contested for a political seat at the Anambra State House of Assembly but he lost in the primary election.
