The Nigerian entertainment music industry is filled with people of various educational backgrounds and qualifications. It would be interesting to know that two popular Nigerian musicians are doctors in real life, but they abandoned the noble health session to pursue a career in music.
1. Dr Sid
Sidney Onoriode Esiri, popularly known as Dr Sid, is a Nigerian music star, singer, songwriter and the son of the legendary Nollywood actor Justus Esiri. Born on 1 May 1980. The 41-year-old singer graduated from the college of medicine, the University of Ibadan where he studied Dentistry and Dental Surgery.
During his school, the Delta State-born artiste had always shown his passion for music as he was actively involved in various forms of entertainment competitions in the school bagging awards during the process.
After he graduated from the school of medicine, he practised medicine, moving from one clinic to the other and also combining his music. Currently, Dr Sid has completely abandoned medicine and he has focused and dedicated his life to music.
2. Beautiful Nubia
Beautiful Nubia is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, music composer and bandleader. He is one of the music stars who abandoned their Nobel profession to pursue a career in music. In 1992, he bagged a degree from the University of Ibadan where he studied Veterinary medicine.
Born in 1968. The 53-year-old artiste practiced veterinary medicine for a good eight (8) years before he eventually abandoned it and focused on music.
