Popular Igbo highlife musician Obi Okwudili Casimir, also known as Voombastic Uncle P is dead

Popular Igbo highlife musician, Obi Okwudili Casimir,well known as Voombastic Uncle P, has pass away.

The demise of the popular musician was disclosed by music executive, Soso Soberekon,via his verified instagram account on Tuesday night.

"Rest in peace Voombastic Uncle P..what a day", he wrote.

The real cause of Voombastic Uncle P's death cannot be ascertained as of the time of publishing this report.

Voombastic Uncle P has established a space for himself in a tough atmosphere with his unique style of music.

Uncle P has come a long way to stardom for a young man who dropped out of tertiary institute to pursue his passion for music.

The deceased was a former factional Performing Musician Association of Nigeria (PMAN) National President.

He became popular for his indigenous hit song such as 'Voom Kamma', 'Kpokom', Ngozika',Figure 8 bu Akwa Nwa' and 'Kid Emperor'.

Highlife music, which is the late performer specializes in, is a genre that started in the present-day Ghana in the 19th century, during its history as a colony of the British Empire.

It uses the melodic and main rhythmic structures of traditional Akan music and Kpanlogo Music of the Ga people, but is played with western instruments.
