The Big Brother Naija season 6 reality show started on 24th July 2021 and ended on 3rd October 2021.
During the grand finale, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the host, disclosed that the show recorded a cumulative vote of over one billion from fans.
This is about a hundred million votes more than that of last year — the ‘Lockdown’ edition — which raked in over 900 million votes from fans.
Reno Omokri who reacted to this stated that he is stunned that 1 billion votes were recorded for Big Brother Naija in 2021.
Reno added that Nigerians are more passionate about entertainment than their welfare.
In his words;
“I am stunned that 1 billion votes were recorded for #BBNaija in 2021. Of course, there were multiple votes, but this puts the 27 million votes recorded in the 2019 elections to shame. Nigerians are just more passionate about entertainment than about their welfare!"
