She attended the university of Lagos where she studied English language. She also attended Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

She is an award winning actress, director, philanthropist and also a business woman. In 2008, she won 4th Africa Movie Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. In 2016, she was unveiled as the brand ambassador for AIICO Pension Managers Limited. She is a strong supporter of Women's Emancipation and Empowerment, she contributes to their education, progress and training.

She is happily married to another amazing star, Olu Jacobs, and together they have been supporting and complimenting each other. Joke is smart, brilliant and kind.
