Veteran Nollywood actor, Yemi Solade, has advocated for a new version of reality tv show-themed ‘Big Daddy Naija’.
According to the sixty-one-year-old 'Oloture' star actor, the proposed 'Big Daddy Naija' if coming to fruition will celebrate veteran thespians like himself.
Yemi said, “Big Daddy Naija would be a great idea because Nigeria has produced great talents and all we will do in such a show is come out and showcase our talents, and be appreciated."
The actor who once said that Nollywood has become the haven of fraudsters and prostitutes said such a reality show will give veterans like him the opportunity to do something different from the regular screenplay.
In his words, "let us create Big Daddy Nigeria, Let us do something different from what we are used to on the screen.”
Yemi Solade added that the show will the actors' real elements which could range from being an introvert, extroverts, sapiosexuals, and ambiverts.
Of such elements, he added to include those that are homemakers and can cook, those that are loud. those that love music and fashion while stating that actors have no business dexterity. He justified the lack of business acumen by saying that. "that is why we are artists."
Speaking about social media and African values, the ace actor said, “This space [Social media] is meant for socializing, meant fun, hence all the bad behaviours should be eliminated from the space."
He concluded with a phrase he borrowed from the youths, "Let’s ‘catch a cruise.’
