Meet Lola Rae, The First Female Singer To Be Signed On Davido's DMW Record Label

Popular Nigerian music star David Adeleke also known as Davido and the owner of DMW record label, has announced the signing of Rachel Akosua Funmilola Garton popularly called Lola Rae on his DMW record label. Lola Rae will become the first female singer to be singed on the record label. 

Born 20 January 1991, in Obalende, Lagos State Nigeria, Rachael was born to a British father and a Ghanaian mother. She had her elementary and Secondary school education at St. Saviours School, Ikoyi and Lekki British International High School, Lagos, respectively. Lola departed Nigeria and move to the United Kingdom at the age of 15 to complete her university education at Central Saint Martins, where she studied fashion textiles.

Lola Rae's entertainment career started as a dancer when she was a member of a dance group called Mystikal. In 2010, Mystikal auditioned for the Popular Britain's Got Talent show where Rae sang in the competition. 

On 19 November 2012, Rae gained recognition with her debut hit single "Watch My Ting Go" She was nominated as the "Most Promising Female Act to Watch" at the 2013 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. 

In May 2018 Rae gave birth to a daughter named Skye Yaa Amaka.

Rae became the first female singer to be signed to DMW. Congratulations Lola Rae!
