Opinion: How Twitter Ban Will Affect The Nigeria Idol Contestants

The Nigeria Idol reality show is gradually coming to an end, the 6 remaining contestants will be battling for their spots in the next round. By Sunday, one of these top 6 will be evicted thereby bringing the show nearer to the end.

Recently, the Nigerian government banned the use of the bird app in all Nigerian states, and anybody caught still using the app will be arrested and persecuted. Some very non-compliant citizens have looked for a way to use the app using VPN virtual private network but the government still insists that all who make use of the app will be charged to court.

Now to how this restriction will affect the Nigeria Idol contestants, firstly, this is the app all the contestants are using to promote themselves, some of them update whatever they are up to in this app thereby making it easy for their fans and lovers to connect with them.

Secondly, some of these contestants trend immediately after the live show every Sunday night, this makes the contestant know what people are saying about them, they also use the app to evaluate their performance after the live show.

Thirdly, some of their fans and lovers communicate with each other on this platform, they strategize on how they will be voting for the contestants and the type of effort they will be putting into use.

Now, some of the contestants may lose their supporters because they have no means of communication between them.

Let's see what will happen come Sunday live eviction show. Good luck to them and may the best man triumph.
