Today marks the 78th birthday of popularly Nollywood actress, Iya Rainbow (Idowu Phillips).
Idowu Phillips was born on October 16, 1962 in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state Nigeria. She was in late Sir Hubert Ogunde’s theatre group back then before he died in 1990.
Iya Rainbow got her popularly land mark name since the death of her husband and has been referred to that ever since.
Before she became a star Actor, Idowu Philips practiced the nursing profession and also took acting as a side job.
After her husband’s death, Iya Rainbow decided to go into acting full term. Her husband, Augustine Ayanfemi Phillips was a close friend of Sir Herbert Ogunde.
Mama Rainbow has featured in a good number of Nollywood movies. Some of the movies are: Back to Africa (1997), Lagidigba, Irepodun, Jesu Mushin (2002) and many more.
