Georgina Onuoha pleads for the protection of children identity when making DNA results public.

Georgina Onuoha

Georgina Onuoha, a Nollywood actress, has urged parents involved in public divorce battles to refrain from releasing DNA test results with their children's names on social media platforms.

The actress made the request on her Instagram page just hours after prominent radio personality Chinedu Ani, a.k.a. Nedu, of Wazobia FM, claimed that his first son, Uzoamaka Ohiri, was not his real child during their marriage.

To back up his allegation, Nedu shared the DNA test results on his Instagram page, along with the child's name.

Reminding everyone that ‘the internet never forgets,' the actress urged parents and bloggers to use caution when posting such sensitive documents, warning that it could cause emotional distress for the child in question later in life.

“This is a heartfelt plea to parents dealing with DNA issues and bloggers writing about them: please, for the love of God, when posting DNA evidence, at the very least black out the innocent children's names to spare them further trauma. It's bad enough to discover the truth about your identity and have your name all over the internet. “Keep in mind that the internet never forgets,” she wrote.

She also pleaded with "all adults and parents to do everything in their power to protect the identity of these innocent children."
