According to reports, Rachel died on April 13th, 2021 after a brief illness, she was 38 years old. A close friend of her family told yours truely over a telephone chat that she died of cancer.
She was before her death the presenter of Rachel the Piper Show which airs every Saturday by 6 pm on AIT.
The show was a 30min documentary about places, people, and events.
Aside from being a presenter, Rachel was also a humanitarian, she was the founder of Rachel the PIPER FOUNDATION which over the years has put smiles on the faces of people especially the less privileged.
Late Amb. Rachel Bakam was from the Southern Kaduna part of Nigeria. She was a major advocate in the “SOUTHERN KADUNA LIVES MATTERS”, campaign. She had on so many occasions distributed relief materials and palliatives to the victims of Southern Kaduna Killings.
She also distributed palliatives to Media Houses around Abuja during the COVID-19 Pandemic lock-down.
Rachel Bakam had on so many occasions represented Nigeria at events in other countries in her capacity as an Ambassador and presenter.
Rachel was loved by many both home and abroad, and everyone who came in contact with her will testify of her gentleness and peaceful nature.
Sadly, what started as a rumor yesterday has now been confirmed to be the truth.
Our dear Rachel is no more; she has gone to a better place where she can find more rest of mind and peace.
Though it is so painful, God knows why.
May God gives her family, friends, and fans the fortitude to bear the great loss.
