Wizkid, machala, starboy. The boy, the man and the legend. Words can't even begin to completely describe Wizkid.
30 years ago, he was born in Lagos. Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun has become a phenomenal figure in the music industry. He began singing at a very young age of 11. Some would think the going was all rosy for him. No it wasn't.
He started his professional career under Banky W but today his own record label Starboy is one of the biggest in Africa.
With countless hits trailing his path and three children from three different women, Wizkid's career has always been revered. His fandom known as starboy Fc have been regarded as the strongest in Nigeria, regularly at loggerheads with anyone who says Wizkid is not the greatest.
His album made in Lagos which is set to be released later this month will be the fourth album of his career. Albums before it include his first album Superstar, Ayo and Sounds from the other side.
Today as Africa celebrates her music legend, it is in order to share throwback pictures of the icon to motivate each and everyone of us. The key thing to note is that there is no short cut to greatness!
Happy birthday Wizkid!
