World famous celebrity who you didn't know are Nigeria

In the entertainment industry today, there are numerous blacks that are doing wonderfully well in the industry. People think they are black Americans, but some of these actors, TV personality and musicians are from Nigeria. We would be talking about world famous celebrities who are Nigerians.

1.      Hakeem Kae-Kazim

Born in Lagos, Nigeria where he spent his early life before his parents relocated to London. He is a British-Nigerian actor. He is known for his active role in the television series black sails and the film hotel Rwanda. Currently he is a brand ambassador for etisalat Nigeria.

2.      Anthony Joshua

Named Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua. He is a Nigeria-British professional boxer. He is a two-time unified heavy weight champion. His mother is a Nigerian, while his father is of Nigerian and Irish ancestry. His background can be traced back specifically to the Yoruba people. Joshua spent some of his early life in Nigeria, before returning to the UK where he grew up.

3.      Tinie Tempah

Named Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu, born on 7th November 1998, he is known by his stage name Tinie Tempah. He is a British rapper, composer and entrepreneur. Tinie was born in London, the son of igbo parents from Nigeria. His career started in 2005, He created his own entertainment company in 2006 along with his cousin.

4.      Adetomiwa Edun

Babatunde Adetomiwa Edun was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He is a British-Nigerian actor best known for his role as Sir Elyan in the popular TV show Merlin. He as proven to be one of the most promising and gifted actor, with his awesome performance on stage. Tomiwa speaks English, Yoruba and French.

5.      Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje

He is one of the best world famous celebrities. He was born in London to Nigerian parents of Yoruba origin. He is an actor, fashion model and director. He is known for his role in the movie: Oz, game of thrones, thor, sucide squad and many others.

6.      Nonso Anozie

Anozie was born in London. He is a British actor of the Nigerian Igbo descent. He is one of the very few black actors in the Game of thrones where he plays the role of Xaro Xhoan Daxos.

7.      Sade Adu.         


Helen Folasade Adu, was born in Ibadan Nigeria but was brought up in England. She is a singer, songwriter, and actress. She has received various recognition as one of the most successful British female artists in history due to her influence in contemporary music.

8.      Tracy Ifeachor

Ifeachor is of Nigerian Igbo origin born in England. She is a television and theatre actress best known for her roles in the movie: the originals, crossbones and doctor who.

9.      David Oyelowo

David Oyetokunbo Oyelowo was born in England to Nigerian parents. His father is from Oyo state while his mother is from Edo state. He is an actor and a movie producer. He is best known for his role in the movie queen of katwe, rise of the planet of the apes and many others.

10.  Taio Cruz

Adetayo Ayowale Onile-Ere was born in London to a Nigerian father and a Brazilian mother. He is an English singer, songwriter, rapper and record producer currently based in Los Angeles. He as won several awards including the BRIT awards, and American music award.
