The Nigeria Idol is a music and talents competition that discovers new talents in the music and entertainment sector. Over the years, many stars presently were birthed from this show which is aired across the television channels.

The 2021 edition has an array of stars including Seyi Shay, a Nigerian music artist and actor. The show which started on Sunday 28th March got the attention of many entertainment seekers and lovers across Nigeria and globally.
Seyi Shay trended due to the way she remarked and reacted to some of the participants. He remarks to participants were not so encouraging and for that many persons frowned at her approach to judging. Some persons believe she was too harsh. Some likened her to the popular American Idol judge Simon Cowell.
