Portable, the up-and-coming singer, expressed his disappointment on Friday, revealing that he declined an offer of N5 million to perform at the highly anticipated Tinubu inauguration concert. The organizers had initially proposed a payment of N10 million for his performance, but the reduced amount led to his decision not to participate in the event, held in Abuja on Thursday night to commemorate the inauguration of President-elect Bola Tinubu. The Zazuu sensation took to Instagram to share videos expressing his discontent, urging that what rightfully belongs to him, ZAZUU, should be given to him.
In one of the videos, Portable passionately exclaimed, "I am the one who sang Akoi Tinubu, right? Wasn't it you all that voted for Obi? Tinubu came in, and those useless people performed there. Wasn't it me who promoted Tinubu? Then they called my manager, saying they wanted me to perform in Abuja. They offered 10 million, but in the end, they reduced it to five million for Portable. That's when I refused. I tore the contract and deleted their number. Are you complaining about Jesus? That's why I didn't perform in Abuja."
Prominent artists such as Wande Coal and KCee were among the performers at the concert, which was graced by the presence of Tinubu himself and his vice, Kashim Shettima. Despite missing out on the event, Portable remains steadfast in his stance, emphasizing the significance of receiving fair compensation for his talents.
