3 Records Set By Ckay That No Nigerian Musician Has Achieved

The Nigerian music industry is one of the biggest music industry in the Africa, different artistes from Nigeria have been setting new records on the global music scene in recent times. One artiste whose recent success took a lot of people by surprise is Ckay, the young Nigerian singer and song writer's song which is titled "Love Nwantiti" is currently dominating music charts all over the world, this has enabled him to set new music records in Nigeria and Africa, below are some of the records.

1. HIGHEST CHARTING NIGERIAN SONG ON U.K OFFICIAL MUSIC CHART

"Love Nwantiti" is currently occupying the fourth position in the official music chart of U.K, this is the highest position a Nigerian artiste has occupied in the history of the chart. "Oliver Twist", a song that was released by D'banj in 2012 was previously the highest charting Nigerian song.


2. THE FIRST AFRICAN ARTISTE TO HAVE OVER 16 MILLION MONTHLY SPOTIFY LISTENERS

Spotify is a global music streaming platform, different people all over the world make use of spotify when streaming music. In the history of spotify, no African Artiste has had over sixteen million monthly listeners, Ckay is the first first African Artiste to achieve that feat.


3. THE FIRST NIGERIAN SOLO ARTISTE TO CHART ON BILLBOARD HOT 100 CHART

Nigerian artiste such as Wizkid, Burna Boy and Tems have all charted on billboard hot 100 chart, however, non of them have charted on the chart as a solo artiste, Ckay's "Love Nwantiti" is currently occupying number eighty on the chart, this makes him the first Nigerian artiste to appear on the chart as a solo artiste.
