Tiwa Savage's Video: 3 Major Facts People Should Know About How Blackmailers Operate

Following the recent refusal of popular Afrobeat singer Tiwa Savage to succumb to the pressure from some alleged blackmailers, after her inmate video with her lover was leaked online, many influential personalities have given some good appraisal to the singer for her brave response, although a few others criticized her too.

However, it is good to understand how some so-called blackmailers operate, and why it might have been a wise decision by the Afrobeat singer to have refused to yield to their calls.

1. Majority are internet fraudsters (Yahoo Boys)

For any blackmailer, the priority is to obtain a large sum of money from whoever the victim is, and in the case of Tiwa Savage, the story is not different.

But in recent times, the majority of those involved in the activity of blackmailing are the internet fraudsters (Yahoo Boys), who lie in wait for their "prey" to mistakenly post any of their private and delicate materials online, which eventually they can use to obtain a huge amount of money from them.

Their major aim is to defraud people of their huge possessions, and many victims have been dying slowly in silence as a result of their threats.

2. They go after top people - politicians, public servants, celebrities

Another important fact to know about these blackmailers, especially the internet fraudsters, is that their targeted group are top politicians, celebrities, public servants or people of high profile, both home and abroad.

If their victims are not as courageous to accept fate like the currently trending Tiwa Savage and a few other celebrities who have refused to pay them, they can become a permanent parasite, who may obtain from their hosts constantly.

3. They are imposters

One more thing to understand about the blackmailers is that most of them buy highly upgraded accounts or hijack people's unused accounts on social media and pretend to be highly classified personalities, thereby scamming people or defrauding them.

Unless one victim is courageous enough not to give in to them like we recently saw Tiwa Savage and a few others did, they may ransack an individual of his/her whole wealth.
