It's painful to realize that the faces of successful Nollywood actors who once graced our screens have faded away. These actors used to dazzle us with their acting abilities once upon a time. In reality, we eagerly anticipated the release of any of their latest films. They began to vanish one by one as the years passed. However, it is important to remember that everybody, including celebrities, must leave or resign from their profession at some stage in their lives. Any actor will still find a place in the entertainment world when he or she gets older. But, in comparison to their glory days, the positions they might get diminish with time. Actors, on the other hand, leave for a variety of reasons, including marriage (especially for women), failure to compete with younger actors, age-related problems, and the desire to pursue other careers. Without further ado, I will discuss ten well-known Nollywood actors who have abandoned acting in favor of other careers.
Chidi Mokeme is a Nigerian actor who dazzled us in a number of films before fading into obscurity. The handsome star, whose union sparked a slew of scandals before collapsing, seems to have given up acting for good and is now a business owner.
Emeka Ike is a Nigerian actor and director who used to be a familiar face on our television screens. Since starring in the film Deadly Affair, he rose to fame. As new actors continued to surface, he began to fade away until he finally vanished from our screens. In many interviews, the singer, whose unhappy marriage was widely known, bemoaned the fact that actors are not paying royalties. Most of the reasons he gave up acting and became a politician as well as an entrepreneur is most likely because of this.
Susan Patrick is a Nigerian actress who had a brief career in the industry. She appeared in a few films before disappearing from our screens; later, we learned that she had lost her husband. The lovely actress seems to have purposely kept her distance from the public eye, as she has been silent on social media. As a result, her actual employment status is uncertain.
Pat Attah is a Nigerian actor who rose to prominence after appearing in the soap opera Fortunes, which paved the way for a promising film career. The handsome actor gave up acting a few years ago and moved to Germany, where he now works as a musician.
Saint Obi is a Nigerian actor, artist, and director who, a few years back, was a joy to watch on television. The star, who avoided controversies during his career, has retired from acting, but remains involved in the entertainment industry, working as a filmmaker behind the camera.
Lilian Bach is a former model and actress from Nigeria. She rose to fame as a model in the 1990s, and she even competed in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant. She used to be the face of Delta soap. The stunning biracial star, whose father is Polish and mother is a Yoruba from Lagos, has since left the industry and is now a businesswoman.
Tony Umez is a Nigerian actor and director who has appeared in a number of films. The actor rose to prominence after acting in the film Died Wretched, in which he dazzled us with his flawless spoken English. The actors mainly played love roles, with some occult roles thrown in for good measure. The star gave up acting a few years ago and is now a business owner.
Regina Askia is a Nigerian actress who made a name for herself in the film industry in the 1990s and early 2000s. Since starring in the soap opera Fortunes, the former beauty queen rose to prominence. At the height of her career, she moved to the United States. She married there and is now employed as a nurse practitioner.
Charles Okafor is a Nigerian actor known for his role in the film End of the Wicked. Before fading into obscurity, the affable actor's smile could be shown on our screens on a daily basis. He gave up acting and now works as a pastor and entrepreneur.
Clem Ohameze is a Nigerian film actor who has appeared in a number of films. A year ago, the multi-talented star vanished from the film industry. After his car was hit and his cousin was killed during the crash, he went into politics, which he later left due to claims that his life was endangered. He relocated shortly after that, and little has been heard from him since.
Georgina Onuoha is an actress from Nigeria. She was a familiar face a few years ago before giving up acting and relocating to the United States. The star, who is very popular on social media, recently announced that she is now a health information expert as well as a financial adviser.
Dolly Unachukwu is a Nigerian actress best known for her role on the soap opera Fortunes. However, the film Deadly Affair catapulted her into the spotlight. The stunning actress appeared in a few films before quitting acting and relocating to the United Kingdom, where she now resides with her family.
Emeka Enyiocha is a Nigerian actor who has appeared in a few films, often in the character of a "bad guy." The actors' faces eventually faded away from our television as the years passed. Later interviews revealed that he had stopped acting because he had married and begun a family. He said that he desired to be near his children. Enyiocha entered the world of the industry by opening a beer parlour. We later learned that he was forced to close the company due to mismanagement from the people he had in charge. He may return to acting in the future, but we have yet to see him in a film.
That concludes my list of 14 well-known Nollywood actors who have left the industry to pursue other endeavors. Who would you like to see on your phone once more?
