So many villages in this world still practice their traditions very well even till date. There are some tradition that are still existing in some parts of the world despite that modernization has taken over most of these things. Some of them are still standing tall like twice as tall that won Grammy award.
In a particular village in South Africa, a 71 years old woman known as Fikile Mlaba has been banished from her own village just because she refused to wear black dress to mourn her dead husband. According to reports, this practice is their tradition, and it has been in existence since time immemorial. This tradition has been practiced by their past ancestors since the existence of the village.
And the tradition has not died since then, it is mandatory for any woman who lost her husband to wear black dress to mourn her husband's death. This is done by all widows in the village when their husbands newly died.
But, a 71 years old woman who's also a mother has refused to wear black dress to mourn her husband's death. This gravitated the wrath of the villagers that they had no choice but to banish her from the village. They also said that her refusal to wear the black dress has angered their ancestors which resulted in the damaging of crops and some other things in the village.
Despite all the pressures, she stood for her right and decided not to yield to what they are telling her to do, she rather leave the village than wear black dress to mourn her dead husband. Right now, she's been banished from the village by the villagers. Do you think the woman standing tall in her own belief is the best, or do you think she's supposed to obey the villagers? 03-18 09:43:51The tradition was good then, if it no longer serve the entitlement of present dispensation, why not let her be. One day they will say: tradition wants woman to babysit the dead husband lest the village will go into extinction. What are the men to do. Please be careful.
