Fame comes with a lot of things, upsides and downsides. The major downside many celebrities try to avoid is invasion of privacy. While many try to avoid this, some others bask in the euphoria. Of all the things that can be hidden in this world, pregnancy is not one of them. You can't hide it neither can you hide the birth of a child. Understand me here, as a normal person, only people close to you will know. You can choose to tell or not to.
For celebrities however, the case is far from what is obtainable amongst regular folks. From their love lives, their acquisitions either in form of houses, lands or cars, their families, their pasts and sometimes even their futures becomes a topic for discussion. This is not necessarily done out of spite or to pedal rumors, it's just the way things are once you become a public figure. You mustn't even be a musician. Ben Carson for instance is not a musician, Williams Uchemba is not yet they are always under public scrutiny.
The most talked about celebrities this year are perhaps 20 year old actress Regina Daniels and 31 year old amazing singer/songwriter Simi. The main reason for all the buzz surrounding them is their new born babies. On Regina's part, her baby boy Munir is so popular right now because of the family he was born into. Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels were the most controversial wedded couple last year chiefly because of their age disparity.
On Simi's part, her pregnancy and childbirth are still talked about because above all else, Simi is Nigeria's darling vocalist. Some even rank her after Asa. Her marriage to fellow singer Adekunle Gold was a huge trend hence it is as expected that her pregnancy and childbirth are on the lips of 4 out of every internet user in Nigeria. She even made a song for her baby (calls it duduke) and right now the visuals which are stunning by the way have over ten million views on YouTube. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!
Now to the main reason for this article. All attention seems to be focused on the aforementioned two that we seem not to notice other beloved celebrities sharing in the joy of a new child. After long hours of research, I could only find three of them I feel you will know. There are more than four new mums or new dads at the moment but the three listed below are most likely to be in your list of 'celebrities I know'
The Ikeji name is very prominent in Nigeria mostly because of the wonder woman Linda Ikeji. The Ikeji women in fact are very amazing set of women. Linda, Laura, Sandra and Vera.
Laura Ikeji welcomed her second child and baby girl Laurel with her hubby Ogbonna Kanu back in February.
2. Zlatan Ibile
25 year old Zanku crooner welcomed a baby boy with his London based baby mama on the 27th of May 2020. His name is Toluwalase Shiloh Ainoghena Omoniyi.
1. Mercy Johnson
Our 35 year old incredible actress is top on this list. Personally I am one of those who literally dream of meeting Mercy Johnson someday and giving her a big embrace. She's totally amazing.
She had her fourth child with Prince Charles Okojie back in May. A baby girl, she has been named Divine-Mercy Ehinomen Okojie.
