Obama Breaks Silence, Shares Throwback Picture Of Him And His Late Granny

Former President, Barrack Obama has reacted to the report of the death of his grandmother, Sarah Obama who died in the early hours of Monday at aged 99.

Recall that the world woke up to the news of the death of Sarah Obama, popularly known as Mama Sarah, the grandmother of former US President Barack Obama, who died in western Kenya.

Sarah Obama, popularly known as Mama Sarah, was said to have had been admitted to the Jaramogi Hospital in Kisumu.

Sarah, a simple country woman, rose to world fame with the 2008 election of her step-grandson Barack as the first black US President.

Sarah was said to be the third wife of President Obama’s grandfather, Hussein Obama, a village elder and an herbalist.

Consequently, in his reaction, former President Obama said he and his family members are mourning the loss of their beloved grandmother, Sarah Ogwel Onyango Obama, affectionately known to many as “Mama Sarah” but known to them as “Dani" or Granny.

He added that the family will miss her dearly, but appreciate the remarkable life she lived.

In his words, he said:

"My family and I are mourning the loss of our beloved grandmother, Sarah Ogwel Onyango Obama, affectionately known to many as “Mama Sarah” but known to us as “Dani” or Granny. We will miss her dearly, but we’ll celebrate with gratitude her long and remarkable life."

Consequently, many people around the world, have continued to send in their condolences to the reknown politician over the loss and wished him and his family members the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
