Social media as we all know is a very great means of globalisation with the rate of interconnectedness at increase. Things happening in one part of the world now are streamed, viewed, commented on in another part. The benefits of this interconnectedness are here once again in the lives of two young girls who met their destiny helpers through social media, Chinenye Eucharia and Salle, as they are popularly called.
1. Chinenye Eucharia.
Chinenye Eucharia is a young girl who grabbed the attention of many Nigerians by the throat after she had an ordeal with Destiny Etiko, a renowned Nigerian actress. Destiny launched a search for her on social media after their first meeting. Ever since this happened, we see Eucharia in a new light and now we hope to see her in her first movie "The Cab Ladies"..for we can tell from her zeal that she would make a good actress.
Similarly, Salle, a 17-year old hawker who would still be in one part of the world unrecognized and her talent not identified if not for the videos of her that went viral. She became a sensation due to her Angelic voice. After the video of her singing went viral, things began to set in place for her quickly. Her talent scaled the shores of Nigeria. Salle happily announced that she got a call from multi-award-winning superstar and Barbadian singer Rihanna. according to reports, she (Salle) has been invited to Cable News Network(CNN) with Christiane Amanpour.
While we call these a blessing in their lives, we note that from social media a lot of great positive impact has been made in the lives of so many in Nigeria and the world at large. It can be arguably said that social media placed these two young ladies at the forefront. Many shall see and applaud them. What can you say about these two and what advice should we give ourselves now to use social media to our advantage.
