Big brother Naija star, Nengi recently made headlines after she rocked a revealing outfit in public which sparked mixed reactions among fans on social media. Not too long ago, Liquorose was also dragged for rocking a transparent outfit to a Tecno event in Lagos.

Looking at the countless number of times Nigerian celebrities got dragged for their outfits, you'll discover that Big brother Naija stars aren't the first to face criticism for their outfits, this has been going on for as long as time could tell.
Meanwhile, things are mostly different in the western world as celebrities seem to receive more praise and rarely face criticism whenever they appear publicly in revealing outfits. Based on my analysis, these could be the reasons why female Nigerian celebrities constantly face criticism whenever they rock revealing outfits.
1. Religious values in Nigeria
Religion plays a considerable role in the lifestyle of most Nigerians. No religious Nigerian would not condone the lifestyle of putting on revealing outfits in public places. Considering the fact that a huge percentage of Nigerians are religiously committed, Nigerian celebrities would always get dragged on social media whenever they rock revealing outfits in public.
2. Lifestyle in Nigeria
Life in the western world is almost entirely different from that of Nigerians. In the west, a young lady can step out publicly in a revealing outfit without drawing much public attention. This is because most people in the west are used to such a lifestyle and they see nothing wrong with it as they normally rock bikinis while going for beach parties.

However, in Nigeria, a lady would find it hard to step out publicly in a revealing outfit because most Nigerians aren't used to such a way of dressing. A lady who steps out publicly in a revealing outfit would either get mocked by elderly ladies, scolded by a preacher, get cornered by men who are stunned by her looks, and some may abuse her by using harmful words on her. This is why Nigerian female celebrities do face social media dragging whenever they rock revealing outfits in public.
Do you think celebrities should be applauded or dragged for their choice of outfits?
