In today's Christianity its an opposite statement because it's now like, " you have to pay to be blessed" which is not the right teaching of our savior Jesus christ
We still remember the days of early Christians talking about bishop Ajayi Crowther,
They brought alot of social amenities to Nigeria, which are ;affordable hospitals, free schools, free accommodation and soo many others
But in today's Christianity they have actually turned it to what I termed
A situation where you invest in religion to be come rich just like every other business
In a twitter statement made by bishop oyedepo which raised alot of controversy among believers, unbelievers and etheist
He said that
"Tithing is an inescapable covenant obligation. Prosperity not just wealth is impossible without tithing, because when you're not paying your tithe, you're under a financial curse.
Although this has been raising controversy for a while now and it continues that way
The Nigeria legend comedian can't skip the statement but breacted to it through his Instagram post
Which he made a funny one and showing a kind of aggressiveness
Here he wrote "
THIS LIFE NO BALANCE AT ALL!!
The Govt will threaten us with prosecution if we don’t pay our TAX & VAT.
The CHURCH will now threaten us with a FINANCIAL CURSE if you don’t pay your TITHE!
Inside the TERRIBLE ECONOMY?
With the LEVEL OF UNEMPLOYMENT?
What do you think about tithing in Nigeria
