The last few months have seen a number of Veteran Nollywod actors taking to social media to call for help.
Most of these actors are either in need of money for health issues or because they've suddenly gone broke. Some of which includes but not limited to the likes of Pa Kasumu, Ernest Asuzu, and the most recent one with Pa James (Ajirebi) -- whose house got flooded by water.
Questions have however been raised as to why most of these actors have to go through such considering the fact that they've made so much money from their acting career.
Reacting to why Veteran actors suddenly go broke and sick, Nollywood actor Ninalowo Bolanle insisted that the poor structure of the industry is not to blame for this, but individual actors themselves.
“The blame should not be on Nollywood because it doesn’t have structure," the actor said. "but it should be on the individual. You are not a victim of circumstances; you are victim of the choices you made.
Speaking with Mr Porsche in an Instagram Live Session, the 40-year-old said most actors get carried away in life which blocks them from thinking that they need to have a retirement plan in place.
"A lot of them are carried away. They don’t have retirement plans. We are prone to be carried away in life, but humility is there to bring you back to senses."
He noted that everyone has to take responsibility for their actions. Nino as he's fondly called, said the government is not to be blamed for whatever happens to an individual because it is more of our responsibility to do the right things at the right time:
"People now blame environment and government for whatsoever happen to them. If I lose all my money today, I am to blame. It is my problem. They should be more responsible and know what to do at the right time."
He added: "I’m not mocking anybody, but if you can get up and go shop for good things you need, then I don’t think anyone should school you about this. Natural disaster, natural causes, are bound to happen, how prepared are you?” he stated.
Do you agree with Nino? Let me hear your thoughts below...
