Six long years after her last project, Adele came back with a bang and it didn’t take long before we were reminded of who she was in these streets.
I do not know if these long breaks she takes away from the scene is a strategy to always keep us longing for a new Adele song, or if it’s simply out of her sheer need to lead a life as private as possible.
If she had any intentions to make us thirst and long for her art by staying away this long, then she definitely had us where she wanted. It’s evident in how many millions of views the video of her new song “easy on me” was able to gather a few hours after release. We were truly thirsting.
It’s just been one day and she has 47 million views, you have to agree that that woman is massive.
She had also broken records on big streaming platforms like Spotify and Amazon for highest streams on a single day and it’s not surprising at all, seeing that she didn’t disappoint on that song .
On tik tok, the #easyonme hashtag has gained over 88 million views and she has also announced the release date for her album “30” which will be released on the 19th of November. Yes ! You heard right, an Adele album !!
Listening to an Adele song without being hurt takes away the fun, her music is one you need to feel deeply and relate to and if you’re not as hurt as she is or as the song demands you to be, you just might not be enjoying it right.
While she was away she parted ways with her husband Simon Konecki. The divorce was finalized in March this year despite having filed in far back 2019, you would think she would make music from that experience and you aren’t wrong because she did.
“Easy on me” is a song that talks about regret and a sudden coming to realization. Maybe or not it has to do with her ex spouse but we’re sure ready for a truckload of other beautifully melancholic music when her album drops in November.
While we wait to get our hearts broken again and again by the beautiful artistry in Adele’s Arsenal of songs, we cannot help but be grateful that she came back and quite timely too. I mean it’s been a rough year since last year with COVID and all the baggages it came with, we could use a little tears down our faces to help unload all the heaviness in our hearts and it’s a no brainer that “30” will do just that.
I’m excited about this new project, I know you are too.
Hello Adele, break our hearts again. We love it !!
