6 reasons why BBnaija show should not be banned

Big Brother Naija has become one of the most popular reality shows in the country. It is a platform where people of different family backgrounds and characters come together to live as one to establish a bond of friendship or more. Though it has received wide condemnations and criticisms, there are still positive impacts gained from it. The housemates engaged in various tasks and also win numerous cash prizes aside from the grand prize.

It is no doubt that Big Brother Naija platform has transformed the lives of its contestants.

Below are the reasons BBNaija should not be banned

1. It has produced successful friendships and marriages, notably BamBam and Teddy A.

Tope Adenibuyan popularly known as Teddy A, and Oluwabamike Olawunmi fondly called Bambam, met and started dating in the Big Brother house during the Double Wahala edition. They are happily married, and their union is blessed with a daughter.

Also, Gedoni Ekpata and Khafi Kareem, two former housemates of the Big Brother Naija, Pepper dem edition began their relationship during the reality show. They are happily married and are expecting their first child together.

2. The contestants automatically become celebrities.

Though a former model, it was not until Rebecca Nengi Hampson made it to the BBNaija house that she became a celebrity.

Tobi Bakre is an ex-Big Brother Naija housemate. He is currently a model, an actor, and a television host.


3. The housemates are exposed to new ideas. The platform helps them to discover new skills and talents which help them become entrepreneurs.

 Dorathy Bachor has been an entrepreneur but she came to the limelight after she entered the Big Brother house.

Prince Nelson Enwerem is a former BBNaija housemate. During the Lockdown Reunion, he hinted that he dreams of having a beauty salon. He has been able to achieve that dream.

4. Participants' network expands as soon as they leave the house whether they win the show or not. Influential people recognize their talent and reach out to them.

5. They get to travel abroad for vacations. For persons who have never left the shores of Nigeria, this avenue could help sponsor the contestants outside the country.

6. It has built lasting friendships between past and present participants.
