I Dedicated My Baby To Wizkid When He Was Born - Twitter User Says

The issue of dedication, as we all know is not an act that started yesterday, last month or last year. The act of dedicating our new born babies to whomever will deem fit but most especially, the Almighty has long been practiced way back to the time of Abraham. So you see, dedicating one's child has been an old time practice.

Literally, dedication as defined by an English dictionary is "the act of setting apart for a deity or for religious purposes". In other words, dedication can also mean concentration. However, the deity to which one's child is dedicated to really matters a lot which I am sure that we all agree with.

The general practice and belief is that once a baby is being born, the appropriate way of dedicating such a baby is to take the baby to church and the pastor does the rest. But it has to do with your belief. What do I mean? The type of dedication you will give your newborn baby depends on your religion. If you are a traditional worshiper, you know what and who to dedicate your baby to.

However, an alleged parent whose Twitter handle is "YungDera" (@yung_dera) took to his social media page to announce that he dedicated his baby to the popular and talented artist whose names are "Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun" popularly known as "Wizkid".

To be honest, I think that the act of dedication is more of a spiritual activity than the physical. Hence, dedicating your new born baby to just anybody might be detrimental to the baby's future.

You should know that after he made this tweet, different reactions followed from the people that came across the tweet. See some screenshots of some reactions below.

In your own opinion, what do you think about this "type of dedication"? Do you think it was appropriate for this man to have dedicated his newborn baby to Wizkid? Could he have been so obsessed about Wizkid?
