From School Dropout To Successful Rapper & Businesswoman: The Breakthrough Story Of Boity Thulo

Boity Thulo is one of the popular female names in South Africa. The 31-year-old is a successful rapper, model, businesswoman and television personality. Boity Thulo had difficult beginnings before she rose to prominence.

School Dropout

Boity Thulo was a student at Monash University before dropping out due to financial crisis. This made Boity give up on education and sign to a casting agency.

In 2010, Thulo was selected to appear in the commercial of South African fast-food restaurant, Wimpy. That advert made her a more familiar face on tv.

Boity's Music Career

In October 2017, Thulo got recognition in her music career when she rapped with Nasty C on the Migos Culture Tour in South Africa. Later in 2018, Boity released her first single titled "Wuz Dat."

Due to Boity's impressive career, she was signed by the record label division, Def Jam Africa in 2020.

The South African celebrity now owns several lucrative businesses. In 2020, Thulo launched her own fragrance known as Boity Pink Sapphire.

Recently in 2021, Boity collaborated with the famous winemaker Mathew Krone, to produce her own alcohol and non-alcohol drink.

Thulo was also added to Forbes list of 30 under 30 creatives in Africa. A list that included the likes of Burna Boy, Joseph Awuah-Darko and many other successful individuals.

Boitumelo Thulo is a living example of someone who rose from nothing to something.
