Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, who is also known as "The Weeknd", is a very popular American musician, who has millions of followers all over the world. He has a lot of hit songs, and he is also a multi award winning musician. He is also a grammy award winning singer. He started his music career in 2010, but gained popularity after he signed a record deal in 2012. He has won 3 grammy awards, 5 American music award, 9 billboard music award, 2 MTV video music award, 9 Juno awards and so on. He can be said to be a very successful musical artiste. The weeknd was born on the 16th of february, 1990. He is a Canadian by birth, because he was born and brought up in Canada, before he relocated to America. His parents, Mr and Mrs Tesfaye are however not Canadians nor Americans, but rather they are Africans. They are from Ethiopia. His parents were refugees in Canada due to the political situation and hunger crisis in Ethiopia, sometime ago in the 1980s.
