Former Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, Professor Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe is dead. He died on Sunday in Lagos of suspected COVID-19 complications.
Details of his death are still sketchy but the professor of systems engineering reportedly died in an undisclosed hospital on Sunday.
He died at the age of 71 years.
There are reports that he died from COVID-19 complications but TheCable cannot independently verify this.
Until his death he was the chairman and pro-chancellor of First Technical University, Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
In a statement, Olayinka Balogun, registrar and secretary to council of the university, confirmed that Ibidapo-Obe died on Sunday.
