On Tuesday, the former elected Senator for the Yobe South constituency of Yobe State sent a strong message to the Federal Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria concerning climate change in the country.
According to the article he shared through his official Facebook page, Adamu Garba Talba asked the Federal Government of Nigeria to tread carefully with the issue of climate change in the country, owing to that it could mar-out chances of electricity generation in Nigeria.
Adamu Garba Talba also noted that the evident dichotomy between East and West have grave political consequences in the 21st century, adding that the Nigerian government should be careful in taking decisions concerning that particular region owing that any mistake on the line might have severe political implications on Nigeria’s chances of success in this century.
"Climate Change in Nigeria: Federal Government of Nigeria need to tread carefully with this issue of climate change. It could mar out chances of electricity generation in Nigeria.
"The evident dichotomy between East and West have grave political consequences in the 21st century. Any climate mistake on the thin line might have severe political implications on Nigeria’s chances of success in this century."
Speaking further, Adamu Garba Talba also said that climate change issues are not just for the environment, but also control of the new and emerging energy domain.
He said, "Climate change issue is not just for the environment, it’s also for the control of the new and emerging energy domain. This could well determine who can be the next superpower.
"In this obvious bipolar world, we must watch carefully, our actions, our words in the international arena alliances."
