The level of insecurity in the Southeast has been condemned by many Nigerians and several groups in the country.
Recall that several attacks have taken place in the southeast which led to the deaths of innocent people and destruction of properties in the region. Government facilities and security formations have also been targeted in the attacks.
The level of insecurity in the region made the southeast Governors support the move to ban open grazing as part of the measures to solve the security challenges.

According to a report by PUNCH Newspaper, Miyetti Allah disclosed that killing and destruction of properties have continued in the southeast even though the herdsmen have left the region after the ban on open grazing.
The Spokesman of the group, Saleh Alhassan, disclosed that the current security challenges in the Southeast showed that the herdsmen were never the cause of insecurity in the southeast.
He maintained that if the herdsmen were the problem, peace would have returned to the Southeast now that the herders are not there.
