Why Igbo youths calling for the return of genuine Fulani herdsmen should suspend their call

The vanguard has reported that the youth wing of Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide has called on the genuine Fulani herdsmen, who have since left the East and parts of Southern Nigeria ahead of the 21st September deadline for open grazing, to return to continue their legitimate business.

This call was made in the Imo state capital, Owerri, by the deputy national president of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths worldwide, Mr. Onwuasoanya FCC Jones. He said that those herdsmen who are genuine people should come back to the East, and continue their business as law-abiding citizens of Nigeria. With this call, one begins to wonder whose interest was Onwuasoanya trying to protect, whether the interest of the killer herdsmen or the interest of the people of southern Nigeria, who have suffered untold hardship, poverty, death, humiliation, rape and hunger at the hands of the murderers.

Onwuasoanya should tell us the measures he has put in place to checkmate and design those who are genuine herders and the Killers. He should also tell us how he would be able to protect the people in the East if unforseen circumstances arise from the herdsmen.

The Igbo youths are willing to hear how Onwuasoanya and his group would be able to dictate and scribetinize when the killer herdsmen rejoin the genuine ones. It is easier said than done. Before making such a heavy, risky statement, if it was made at all, they should tell us whether they have a safe place where those herdsmen could feed their cows without infringing on human resources and rights.

Onwuasoanya should also be reminded that the southern resolution didn't recognize any herdsmen's activities as genuine, since they started genuinely, and later turned into a bloody business. Before the inception of this administration, the herdsmen were already patrolling the southern forests until they decided to go into farms to feed their cows on people's farms, which the FG turned a blind eye to, prompting why it has escalated to this height today. Therefore, if the Igbo youths don't know what to say, they should remain silent and watch events as they unfold, without contradicting the efforts of the southern governors.

What do you think was the reason why the Igbo youths worldwide made that statement? Do you support their ideology, or is it out of order? reactions needed. Kindly like and share this work. Follow for updates.
