The beauty contest for the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2021 which was held on the 18th of September, 2021 at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, ended with Miss Abuja winning the title. Also, some ladies representing different states were awarded and recognized as runner-ups.
However, during this beauty contest, fans and enthusiasts of the programme noticed a reoccurrence during award the ceremony.
Reporting, it was noticed by fans that many of the ladies that dominated the award ceremony, which included the crowned winner Miss Abuja and several of the runner-ups for different states were Igbos.

37 women contested for the crown but Oluchi Madubuike for Abuja was crowned the winner. She will be representing Nigeria at the 2021 Miss World pageant which will take place in Puerto Rico on the 16th of December, 2021.

Miss Abuja, Oluchi Madubuike, emerged winner of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2021.
The first runner-up is Miss Anambra, Maristella Okpala. She will represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe pageant.
Miss Abia, Adaeze Chineme, is the second runner up and will represent Nigeria at Miss Supranational.
Miss Bayelsa, Mercy Jessica Odjugo, is the third runner-up. She is MBGN Tourism.
Lastly, Miss Bauchi, Lydia Okojie, the fourth runner-up, is MBGN ECOWAS.

Many fans of the contest reacted after noticing that the stage was dominated by Igbo ladies.
Reacting on Instagram, a user by the name oluchiangelinasimon said; “Did you people notice something here, all the winners are Igbo girls. Igbos we rock”.
