The skin is the largest organ in the body. It is majorly divided into two layers: the epidermis and the dermis. One the layers is subdivided into five layers each with it's special characteristic. This depicts that God is indeed wonderful. The skin covers the whole body with the exception of the eyes and other orifices in the body. It is continuous with mucous membranes in the mouth,and some parts of the body; harder skin in the palm and underneath the feet; and other types of connective tissue in areas such as the genitals.
Just like every vital organ in the body,the skin can be destroyed or traumatized,thus it needs care. Even without trauma, our skin needs adequate care daily. Below are few habits that can be added to your skincare routine.
Water: The importance of water in almost all organs and invariably systems of our body can never be overemphasized. Few instances are in the gastrointestinal tract for proper digestion,normal peristalsis and prevention of constipation; in the circulatory system to prevent hypovolemic shock and maintain blood volume and of course in the integumentary system (of which the skin is a major organ) to ensure adequate hydration.
Back to the main tip,as stated earlier,water (whether drunk or used to wash the face) helps to cleanse the skin and remove toxins. The face should be washed at least twice daily.
Use sunscreen protection factor. This is present in certain moisturizers and lotions and it is always stated on the cream container. Sunscreen protection factor helps to protect the skin from the ultraviolet rays of the sun. These ultraviolet rays of the sun which are highest when the brightness of the sun is at its peak helps to hasten aging and wrinkle formation. It also increases our risk of having skin cancer.
Cleanse: Experts recommend facial cleansers that contain hydroxyl peroxide and benzoyl peroxide. Many excellent and pocket-friendly facial cleansers are available in stores. This cleansers work by removing dirt on the face. it also helps to keep the skin soft and supple.
Use organic products at least once a week: Organic products as we all know are expensive but we get get some raw materials. Honey, turmeric, essential oils,to mention but a few examples of organic products that can be used on the skin.
Avoid cigarette and tobacco
Never sleep with make-up on
Use rose water at least once a week
