Neem plant (Azadirachta indica), commonly known as "Dogoyaro" in Nigeria is a highly medicinal plant that thrives well in tropical and semi-tropical regions.
Neem plant has several benefits such as:
1. Skin: antioxidants in neem are beneficial for healthy skin, it helps to even out skin tone, remove dark spots, blemishes and infections like eczema.
2. Health: it is said to have a calming and Cooling effect on skin inflammation as well as in the digestive tract. It is also used to treat stomach ulcers, loss of appetite, heart problems and malaria.
3. As an insecticide: the scent of neem plants can drive away insects like caterpillars, beetles and the likes.
Neem oil insecticide also kills some pests after they have eaten leaves sprayed with it.
How you can use neem leaves for a face mask.
I will offer three methods so you choose the most appealing to you.
1. Neem and honey face mask:
1 Tablespoon of Neem leaves powder,
1-2 Tablespoons of honey.
dry the neem leaves under the sun and crush them to get a fine powder. Mix the powder with few tablespoons of honey into a paste. Apply the mix onto your face and affected areas. Rinse off after 10 minutes with warm water.
2. Neem and aloe Vera face mask:
Two tablespoons of aloe Vera gel,
mix one teaspoon of neem powder with two tablespoons of aloe vera gel. Apply this paste massaging onto your skin. After 15 minutes, rinse it off with lukewarm water.
3. Neem paste:
grind about 12 neem leaves with water to make a paste. Apply on your face and leave on for about 15 minutes then wash off.
This should be repeated everyday till you start seeing results then you can reduce the frequency of times you use the paste.
