Avoid These 5 Everyday Mistakes That Damages Your Hair

Your hair goes through a lot every day, from straightening, curling, brushing, and hairspray. Chemicals in shampoos and conditioners, as well as pollutants, can cause harm. Split ends, hair loss, dull-looking hair, and too many tangles are all indicators of hair damage.

It's difficult to keep your hair healthy, but by avoiding several typical hair blunders, you can reverse the damage. Here are some common blunders to avoid if you want to keep your hair healthy.

1. You don't use conditioner.

If you skip conditioner because you don't have time or don't think you need it, you're making a mistake. Conditioner will help detangle your hair, making it more manageable. Knots will not cause your hair to break.

Use the conditioner before shampooing if you think it's making your hair greasy. Apply the conditioner, let it sit for a few minutes, and then shampoo it. You can also use conditioner solely on your hair's tips.

2. You wash your hair excessively.

Hair is stripped of its natural oils when washed every day or extremely frequently. In general, you should wash your hair as needed, which is every two to three days.

If you sweat a lot, live in a humid area, or work out frequently, you should wash your hair more frequently. Use only water or a gentle shampoo to rinse your hair. Dry shampoo is another an option.

3. You're scrubbing your hair with the wrong shampoo.

You should pick a shampoo that is appropriate for your hair, not one that is popular. It may require some trial and error, but it will be worthwhile. If your shampoo is causing your hair to become tangled, dry, or frizzy, it's time to switch to a softer shampoo.

4. You wash your hair with hot water.

Hot water damages hair by stripping it of its natural oils and making it frizzy. Rinse the shampoo off with cool water. Your hair will get shinier and smoother as a result of this. Rinsing with chilly water is beneficial to both your hair and your skin.

5. You comb your damp hair.

When your hair is wet, you should avoid brushing it since it is weak. When eliminating tangles while damp, there is a risk of breaking the hair.

After applying the conditioner, untangle your hair with a wide-toothed comb. Also, when detangling, make sure you start at the bottom and work your way up. Before you wash your hair, you can brush it.
