How to treat and get rid of stretch marks in a few days with this home remedy.
Stretch marks, also called striae, happens when your skin changes shape rapidly due to growth or weight gain. Stretch marks does not mean that anything is wrong with you. It is just one of those things that happens to the skin as a result of weight gain or loss loss, in rare cases.
No one loves the sight of stretch marks, because they look very unpleasant to the eyes and gives the skin flaws.
At first, stretch marks could appear as a thin red or purple line on your skin that takes on a different texture than the surrounding skin layer. Eventually, most stretch marks fade and take on a lighter or almost translucent coloring, and become shiny.
A lot of people often think that stretch marks only affect women, but the truth is that, both men and women can get stretch marks. Although it is more common with women especially due to pregnancy.
The two most common times to get stretch marks are during puberty, when the skin stretches and grows and during pregnancy when the tommy becomes enlarged. Stretch marks can also be caused by body creams and soaps in rare cases.
Getting rid of stretch marks can be a very daunting task. There are a lot of stretch marks removal creams and chemicals being sold out there, which are expensive but do no work as promised. And I am sure you must have tried a lot of them.
However, there are some home remedies that can help minimize the appearance of stretch marks and help them to fade away more quickly.
But first, if you notice stretch marks after starting a new body cream or soap, discontinue use immediately.
The following ingredients can help you get rid of stretch marks or make then fade away quickly:
1. Aloe Vera :
Aloe vera is a proven natural healing agent and a skin softener. As a skin softener, It is one very important ingredient when getting rid of stretch marks.
2. Coconut oil:
virgin coconut oil has great healing properties and since stretch marks are scars from skin damage, coconut oil might help heal the appearance quickly.
3. Shea butter:
Raw unrefined Shea butter is another very important healing agent and repairer.
4. Sugar: sugar scrub has been clinically proven to make stretch marks and other skin problems fade away, by exfoliating the area.
Step 1: Mix a reasonable amount of the Aloe vera juice, coconut oil and Shea butter together in a container and set aside.
Step 2: Mix ¼ cup of sugar and a little bit of coconut oil or olive oil
Step 3: use the sugar mixture to scrub the affected area for 8-10 minutes in the shower and then wash it off. Do this weekly.
Step 4: after showering, apply the aloe vera, coconut oil and Shea butter mixture to the affected area (do not wash off). Apply this to the affected area(s) daily for better results.
NB: Because of different skin types, this might work for some people and not others, but this home remedy is worth a trial.
