Reasons Why Ladies Should Avoid Shaving Their Pubic Area.

Healthline and Women's Healthmag have outlined some of the main reasons why women should avoid shaving their pubic hair:

1. Protection from injury and rubbing.

Pubic hair serves as a natural cushion and helps to reduce the risk of injury and rubbing during sexual and other activities. Shaving can remove this protective barrier, leading to skin irritation and discomfort.

2. Prevention of disease.

Pubic hair acts as a barrier that traps dirt, debris, and potentially harmful microorganisms. Hair follicles also secrete an oil called sebum that helps to inhibit microbial growth. Shaving too often can increase the risk of developing infections such as folliculitis, which is an infection of the hair follicle. Pubic hair may also help protect against illnesses such as yeast infections, vaginitis, STIs, and UTIs.

3. Prevention of staph infection.

Frequent shaving can cause skin irritation and increase the risk of developing boils in the vaginal area, which is a sign of skin irritation that can be caused by infections like cellulitis or folliculitis.

4. Prevention of abscesses.

Shaving and waxing can cause inflammation and subsequent abscesses in the same way as boils. Abscesses are painful, swelling, red infections that occur deep under the skin.
