Gone are the days when people who rocked dreadlocks were looked down upon, people would stigmatize them and assume they smoked weed because of the hairstyle they carried. The stigma still happens a bit but well, who cares. It is believed that our Rastafarian brothers from Jamaica popularised dreadlocks and it’s safe to say one of the most popular hairstyles in Nigeria happens to be dreadlocks.
Below are a few Nigerian artistes that would make you want to ditch your lowcut hairstyle and start rocking the dreadlock style.
1. PAUL PSQUARE
Paul Okoye of Psquare has had his dreads on for some years now and it’s safe to say it’s here to stay. Apart from the suave look which comes with wearing dreads, it has also helped fans and the public differentiate him from his identical twin, Peter.
2. BASKET MOUTH
Arguably the funniest comedian from Nigeria, Basket Mouth rocks a punk style lock which is more stylish and low maintenance than other styles of dreadlocks. His lock tends to give him a younger look because of the urban vibe it emanates.

Ehis probably has the coolest dreadlocks on this list. It looks like an afro but also doubles as a full lock. He loves his hair so much he even nicknamed himself Dada boy just to remind us.
