"The eyes are windows to the soul" they say. Clear and beautiful eyes signify good health and beauty. The eye is one of the most important part of the body and it needs to taken care of and protected from harm.
The eyes can be affected by exposure to excessive sunlight, lack of sleep, unbalanced diet, smoking, health issues and dehydration. This could lead to dark circles, irritation, puffy eyes and redness of eye.
Easy ways to get clear eyes
1. Tea bags
Tea bags are filled with tannin which helps in reducing swelling and discolouration on the eyes. The caffeine in it also helps to reduce redness of eye and remove eye bags. Black tea, white tea or green tea can be used.
Process: Put 2 tea bags in hot water, remove and then squeeze excess liquid. Allow to cool down or put it in a refrigerator to chill for about 10 to 20 mins. Apply the tea bags on each eye. Leave for 30 mins and then remove.
2. Cold milk
The lactic acid in milk helps to reduce dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles. It is also a natural soother and it calms puffy eyes.
Process: Dip 2 cotton balls into chilled milk and place under your eyes. Leave for about 20 mins and then remove. Do this regularly to get effective results.
3. Aloe vera
Aloe vera is a very good remedy for puffy or swollen eyes.
Process: Get 2 cotton balls and place in a container of aloe vera gel. You can also apply the aloe vera directly under the eyes by just dabbing it.
Cucumber has anti-inflammatory properties that helps to calm the eyes. It also has high water content and can help to remove dark circles.
Process: Get a cucumber and cut 2 thick slices. Put it in a refrigerator and remove after 15 mins. Place the cool slices on the eyes and leave for 30 mins. Do this regularly to get effective results.
5. Coconut oil
Coconut oil has anti-inflammatory properties. Process: Soak a cotton ball in a container of coconut oil. Place the cottton ball on the eye or simply just massage the coconut oil all over the eyes for at least 1 minute.
Apply these remedies twice or thrice a week for good and effective results. You can also splash cold water in your eyes or place ice on your eyes to remove redness and make it clearer.
