
The current title holder is Public Health student Nyekachi Douglas who represented Rivers and is currently Africa's Continental Queen of Beauty, having reached the top five at Miss World. 2019 marked the first time since 2001 an MBGN representative placed at both Miss World and Miss Universe (Top twenty).

Nyekachi Douglas is a Nigerian model. She was born in Ibaa, Emohua LGA , Rivers State. She is currently 22 years old. She attended Charles Dale Memorial International School. In October 2019 Nyekachi, representing her home state Rivers, was crowned winner of Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria at a ceremony held at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Bayelsa. In December that same year, Douglas reached the top five at Miss World - losing out to Jamaica's Toni-Ann Singh - and gained the title Miss World Africa, making her the first Nigerian to reach this level since 2004. In addition she was also named Miss World Top Model.
