4 Causes Of Private Organ Itching In Women

Private organ itching is sometimes painful and uncomfortable symptom that happens due to some health issues like infections, irritating substances, or menopause. In some cases, private organ itching occurs as a result of transmitted diseases (STD) as well as skin disorders. 

1. Yeast Infection

Yeast is a naturally occurring fungus that is present in the private organ of women. In the first stage, the fungus doesn't cause any health problem, but it started to grow without checking it, which might result in medical conditions.

The infection is called a vaginal yeast infection. It is a very common infection that affects many women. When yeast overgrowth in the private organ, it might cause uncomfortable health symptoms such as burning, itching, and lumpy discharge.

2. Irritants

One of the causes of vaginal itching in women is exposing the place to irritating chemicals. Some of the chemical irritant substances that cause itching include but are not limited to feminine sprays, soap, ointments, detergents, fabric softeners, and others. 

3. Skin diseases

There are some skin diseases that might cause itching and redness in the private organ. Eczema and psoriasis are among the common skin condition. Psoriasis causes red patches, itchy and scaly close to joints of the body while eczema is a rash that shows in people with asthma.

4. Bacterial vaginosis

Bacterial vaginosis, also known as BV is one of the popular reasons for vaginal itching. It occurs by an imbalance between naturally occurring bad and good bacteria in the private organ. There might be any symptoms at the initial stage, but when the symptoms appear, it comes with smelling discharge and itching.
